Selangor sign ‘Engineer’ to overhaul engine room

SHAH ALAM, Jan 12 — Selangor FC has signed Jordanian international Noor Al-Rawabdeh, also known as ‘The Engineer’, to overhaul its engine room ahead of the 2023 M-League season.

The Football Association of Selangor (FAS) in a statement on its official portal said the 26-year-old was the squad’s latest signing for the new season after having roped in national players Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee, V. Ruventhiran and Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim.

In the same statement, Selangor head coach Tan Cheng Hoe said the inclusion of Noor will further strengthen the squad.

“We know that for a team to do well, the midfield or engine room is the most important part to move the team forward. I hope his presence in the midfield will provide the right tonic for the strike force. I also hope he can blend well with the other players in the squad.

“We know that Noor and Yazan (Yazan Al-Arab) are teammates in the Jordan national team. I am confident both can combine well to support the defence and strikeforce,” he said.

Noor has vast experience in Asian competitions as he has featured in the AFC Cup competition on three previous editions with Al Jazeera from 2017 and was the prime mover when Al-Muharraq SC won the AFC Cup in 2021.
