SHAH ALAM, Jan 10 — A total of 183 local arts are featured in the 2022 Shah Alam Gallery Open Exhibition (PTGSA22).

Themed “Bebas” (Freedom), Shah Alam Gallery’s curator assistant Nur Syafiqah Zainal said the exhibition served as a platform for artists to express their creativity.

“Since 1991, PTGSA has become an annual event for the gallery where it provides a channel for artists to showcase their arts, ideas and talents,” she said when met at the launching ceremony, here today.

She described the year 2023 as the revival of artists following overwhelming responses received by the gallery with 200 participants or 70 per cent higher than two years ago.

“This is our highest participation since the Covid-19 pandemic,” she said.

Nur Syafiqah added that each piece of art will be valued and the top five artists will be selected to win the Anugerah Insentif Pameran Terbuka Shah Alam along with cash prizes of RM2,500.

Various other activities are also included during the exhibition and it will be open to the public until January 31.
