Short film competition offers prizes worth RM10,000

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, Jan 18 — Youths under 35 have the opportunity to win various prizes totalling RM10,000 through a short film competition.

Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the competition involved the cooperation of non-governmental organisation The Horizon Fest

“Themed climate change, the competition is aimed at giving young people the opportunity to produce short films about Malaysia, for example, the political atmosphere in the country and the future they want.

“Participants can record the videos using whatever equipment they have, be it a phone, tablet or digital camera, and the video must be less than 15 minutes long,” she said when contacted.

Jamaliah said entries can be sent via the link https://www.horizonfest.org/ from now until the closing date on March 1.

“I hope many would take the opportunity to express themselves through short films for a peaceful political development of Malaysia.

“Hopefully, this competition can create the best environment and platform for youths to express themselves in the form of filmmaking,” she said.

The competition is open to all Malaysian citizens and films must be in either Malay or English.
