PETALING JAYA, Jan 18 — An illustrator spent over two months restoring seven murals in and around the SS2 commercial centre here.

Silly Jellie, 29, said she felt the need to restore her mural, after noticingitsr fading colours and lustre.

“In June last year, I contacted the Kampung Tunku state constituency community service centre and expressed my wish to rejuvenate my artwork.

“They agreed with my proposal and also requested I help to restore six other murals, to which I was glad to contribute the effort,” said the part-time mural illustrator.

Yesterday, Silly and Kampung Tunku state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei conducted a media tour to view the seven restored murals at SS2’s Commercial Centre, which was accomplished by a RM19,500 allocation from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

Silly is a winner of the Bestnya Malaysiaku Wall Mural Competition, organised by former Damansara Utama state assemblyman Yeo Bee Yin and MBPJ in 2015.

The competition was aimed at giving SS2’s Commercial Centre a new facelift, in addition to attracting more visitors to the area.
