Upgrade library, organise food festival among MBSJ programmes in 2023

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, Jan 12 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) will upgrade the library in its administrative area this year.

Its Mayor Dato’ Johary Anuar said the improvements will be more modern, including the presence of a new concept work space.

“The library does not only focus on reading, instead we want to create a ‘working space’ where there is a cafe, gymnasium and esports centre.

“We will build an esports game room to attract more young people to the library,” he said during a live broadcast of the Subang Jaya Coffee Talk programme on MBSJ’s Facebook.

Meanwhile, Johary said MBSJ will organise a food festival this year to help traders and hawkers market their products.

“We are asking the licensing department to examine the appropriate location whether it is in a focus area such as a supermarket in addition to working with FoodGasm.

“This festival, in addition to helping our traders, aims to attract more people to visit Subang Jaya,” he said.
