SELAYANG, Feb 17 — The proposal to set up closed circuit cameras (CCTV) is one of the steps that will be taken to overcome the issue of irresponsible parties duming waste illegally at Kampung Tengah in Gombak.

KDEB Waste Management’s (KDEBWM) corporate communications department assistant general manager Mahfuzah Muhammad Tarmidi said this was a solid idea, and hopes the local authority and the Public Works Department can hold discussions to bring this about.

“To us, this is the best option. Installing CCTVs is an appropriate measures to prevent the same problem from recurring, alongside the steps taken to close down illegal dump sites.

“For the time being, we have placed yellow tape to control and prevent these irresponsible individuals from so casually disposing of garbage,” he told SelangorKini.

On Wednesday (February 15), KDEBWM together with the Selayang Municipal Council’s (MPS) Solid Waste Management and Health Department conducted a joint operation to clear refuse along the roadsides of Kampung Tengah.
