SHAH ALAM, Feb 21 — Application for the fourth edition of the Selangor Youth Community (SAY) Aspire programme has been extended until February 28 to offer more companies the opportunity to participate.
Its manager Abdullah Muaz Mohd Norman said so far, a total of 31 companies from various sectors have submitted entries since applications opened in January.
According to him, 24 companies have been called for interviews as of last Thursday and 60 per cent of them are from the food and beverage (F&B) sector.
“The objective of the interview is to ensure that each company is qualified and has a product that it wants to export, in addition to the need for assistance from the state government.
“We are aiming for 30 companies to be selected to participate in the programme and applications will be extended to allow more participants to benefit,” he told SelangorKini.
To apply, interested companies can visit the website www.entrepreneurshipselangor.com.my/sayaspire.
The entrepreneur development programme is a collaboration with the state executive councillor for entrepreneurial development Rodziah Ismail that aims to help youth develop products and services for the global market.
The programme which has been organised since 2018 through the SAY agency founded by Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah includes financial training, marketing strategy and strategic planning to penetrate oversea markets.
In the third edition last year, three companies were selected as winners, namely Airaz Technologies Sdn Bhd (Muslim sportswear products), Avantcom International Sdn Bhd (baby skin care products) and Inonity Sdn Bhd (e-commerce website service – StoreUp).
