Cooperation between Selangor, capacity-building agencies success for People’s Income Initiative — MB

HULU LANGAT, Feb 27 — Various agencies and initiatives own by the Selangor government are capable of making the People’s Income Initiative (IPR) programme a success.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the state government is ready to respond to the call to implement the programme in the state.

“For example, agencies related to entrepreneurship, Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and Selangor Hijrah Foundation (Hijrah) already have more than 60,000 alumni now.

“In addition, the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) has initiatives to secure food supply and safety,” he said during his speech at the IPR Launch Ceremony at the Cempaka Light Rail Transit station, here yesterday.

Also present were Economy Minister Mohd Rafizi Ramli and Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

IPR targets 100,000 extreme poor and B40 persons in this country to create income continuity, thus, highlighting the issue of extreme poverty in the country through three templates, namely the Farmer Entrepreneur Initiative (Intan), Food Entrepreneur Initiative (Insan) and Service Operator Initiative (Ikhsan).

Through IPR, an ecosystem of recipients, mentors and business partners is created for income generation activities in line with the need to repair the country’s economic structure at the grassroot level.
