SHAH ALAM, Feb 16 — Some 20 youth took part in a basic haircutting course organised by the coordinator of the Batang Kali state constituency’s community service centre yesterday.

The coordinator, Saifuddin Shafi Muhammad, said the course was carried out in collaboration with Team Selangor, at Streetfade Barbershop and is aimed at helping youths learn hair-cutting techniques.

He hopes the course’s participants will be able to utilise their knowledge and experience to generate income, and eventually open their own businesses.

“We need to understand the latest wishes and lifestyles of youths, who aspire to operate their own businesses including barbering, phone repairs, and selling hipster coffee.

“Asides from being a lifestyle, these can lead towards life necessities which also serve as sources of income at the present,” Saifuddin said.

He thanked Streetfade Barbershop manager Muhammad Aizuddin Lokman, for his consent in allowing his premise to be used for the course.

“I would like to also thank Team Selangor for organising a programme such as this. I can only hope many more similar initiatives will be organised in the future,” Saifuddin said.

The Batang Kali state constituency community service centre will also organise an extension programme for interested participants, and provide aid in purchasing the necessary equipment which can be used to start their own mobile businesses.
