State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said the festival is part of Tourism Selangor’s effort to promote domestic travel in the first quarter of this year.

“Among the activities lined up for the festival include familiarisation trip for visitors to luxury cruise ships that will be docked at the terminal which includes Seabourne Encore 211, Mein Schiff 5, Spectrum of the Sea 324 and Silver Shadow 186.

“Apart from that, other activities include food trucks, Selangor tourism products display and cultural shows,” he told SelangorKini.

Hee said that Tourism Selangor will take part in the Seatrade Cruise Global Convention 2023 from March 27 to 30 in Florida, United States.

“It is part of the promotional activities for the Selangor Cruise segment and to stamp the state as a luxury cruise hub in general.

“The agency also will take part in the annual Matta Fair event, which will be held from March 17 to 19, to promote domestic travels,” he said.

Hee added that Tourism Selangor planned to organise pitching competitions as a platform to share ideas to further boost the state’s tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic as well as to create more new tourism products.
