AMPANG, Feb 12 — An open-concept hall will be built at Kampung Pandan in March, with the RM500,000 allocation from Projek Selangor Penyayang, said Pandan Indah state assemblyman Izham Hashim.
He said the new hall will replace Dewan Ahmad Jantan in the village, as it can no longer be used due to its crooked structure which has rendered it unsafe for the community.
“On the whole, we have six open concept halls including the new one in Perwira Jaya and will add another one in Kampung Pandan which will be renamed later on.
“The original site was also a hall but it will be demolished and rebuilt to make it an open concept. The hall will be constructed as soon as possible, with the process to commence in March, after the documentation process has been completed,” Izham said.
The state executive councillor was speaking at the officiation of Dewan Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya in Perwira Jaya yesterday evening.
In the 2023 Selangor Budget, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said RM28 million will be allocated to Projek Selangor Penyayang for its initiatives, as part of the efforts to stimulate the local economy by providing small projects for the benefit of local residents.
The project will prioritise infrastructure maintenance and upgrading, alongside the development of public government facilities, including those without annual maintenance allocations.
