SHAH ALAM, Feb 8 — Some 4,622 senior citizens and disabled persons (OKUs) in Kuala Kubu Bharu are entitled to receive the Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) Jom Shopping vouchers worth RM150.

Its state assemblyman Lee Kee Hiong said some 2,826 vouchers or 60 per cent have been distributed to the recipients since January.

“This year, we no longer hand over the vouchers according to the recipient’s birthday month. This means they can come and redeem the vouchers at the Kuala Kubu Bharu community service centre at any time.

“Those who have yet to redeem the vouchers can come during office hours and bring along their identification card,” she said on Facebook.

Previously, the state government announced that the eligibility household limit for the Jom Shopping voucher has been increased from RM2,000 to RM3,000 monthly beginning this year.

Recipients will also receive vouchers worth RM150 per year compared to RM100 last year including bereavement benefits of RM500.
