By Sulyn Chong

SHAH ALAM, Feb 28 — Repair works due to a pipe burst incident at Persiaran Pekeliling, Section 3, Bandar Baru Bangi have been taking place since 6.30am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the process is expected to cause an unscheduled water supply disruption in 14 areas in the Hulu Langat region.

“The affected areas include Seksyen 1-16, Bandar Baru Bangi, Sungai Tangkas, Alam Sari, UKM, Kampung Bahagia, Kajang Impian, Taman Sri Melor, Taman Intan, Taman Kajang Mewah, Taman Putra, Perumahan Jalan Wan Siew, Desa Surada, Sungai Ramal Dalam and Taman Semarak.

“The repair works are expected to be fully completed by 3pm today and water supply will be distributed in stages to consumers’ premises once the repairs are completed,” it said in a statement.

In the meantime, Air Selangor said water tankers have been mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral homes during the unscheduled water supply disruption.

“The duration of the water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises,” it said.
