SHAH ALAM, Feb 17 — A total of 65,000 units of Rumah Selangorku in the Idaman and Harapan category have been approved for construction from 2018 until now, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He informed that of the number, 24,000 units are in the planning permission process stage, 6,500 are being built, while 2,400 are ready with locations in Kajang and Bangi.

“The rest of the project will go through various processes such as planning permission, building construction and others.

“We aim for a minimum of 30,000 units to be completed by 2025. We will ensure that the project is completed on time to meet the needs of the people. However, it also depends on the price of raw materials and the market environment, especially after the spread of Covid-19,” he said at a press conference after the groundbreaking ceremony for Rumah Idaman Kwasa Damansara.

Amirudin said the state government has aimed for more than 6,000 houses to be completed early next year in addition to ensuring that projects are completed immediately.

Rumah Idaman dan Harapan is one of the state government’s initiatives through Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) to help low-income (B40) and medium-income (M40) families own comfortable homes.

The housing project is implemented in several locations including Kajang, Bangi, Shah Alam, Cyberjaya and Semenyih.
