SHAH ALAM, Feb 16 — The application process for the Skim Mesra Usia Emas’ (SMUE) and Skim Mesra Insan Istimewa’s (SMIS) Jom Shopping vouchers in the Kampung Tunku state constituency will open on February 20.

Its state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said those aged 60 years and above, with addresses in Selangor according to their identity cards, and who are voters in the state, are eligible to apply for the RM150 shopping vouchers.

“The submission of new application forms must be made every Monday, from 10am to 4pm, at the community service centre in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya.

“Individuals who have already claimed the Jom Shopping vouchers last year are not required to register again, but instead merely have to review their status at smue.yawas.my/admin/online_semakan.php,” she said in a Facebook post.

Lim added that approved applicants can claim their vouchers every Thursday and Friday, from 10am to 4pm, at the centre by bringing their identification card.

“The applicant must bring a copy of the applicant’s identity card, and sign the letter of representation,” she said.

First introduced over a decade ago as a gesture of appreciation for Selangor’s elderly population, each SMUE recipient enjoys the benefit of birthday gift vouchers and death benefits.

Starting this year, the vouchers’ value was increased to RM150, with the same amount provided to Skim Mesra Insan Istimewa (SMIS) recipients, involving an allocation of RM37.5 million.

The monthly household income eligibility limit for Jom Shopping voucher recipients has also been increased from RM2,000 to RM3,000.

Previously, SMUE recipients received a RM100 shopping voucher for select supermarkets in their birth month, which was handed to them at the community service centre of their respective state constituency.
