SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 — A total of 2,000 constituents in Permatang have been assisted to sign up for the Skim Insurans Am Selangor (Insan).

Its state representative Rozana Zainal Abidin said there is a need to provide assistance to the constituents as the registration process can only be made online.

“We informed them about the initiative through social media postings and physical programmes, such as Jualan Ehsan Rakyat, Yok Medang Sarapan Pagi, and the most recent one, the handover of the Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor (Tawas).

“Apart from that, we also encouraged food delivery and e-hailing riders as well as the less fortunate group to register for the free insurance scheme,” she said when contacted by SelangorKini.

As for Meru state assemblyman Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar, he said the scheme has received positive feedback from the public but some have yet to sign up for the initiative.

“At the constituency level, we are ready to help the people to register and they can come to my office to seek help.

“We would also provide explanations on the importance of having an insurance when organising physical programmes that were held in the constituency to ensure that no one is left behind from benefitting from the scheme,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kampung Tunku state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said that she had taken the initiative to send physical letters and put up banners around her constituency.

“This is to ensure my constituents know about the scheme even though most of them have signed up themselves.

“The senior citizens also expressed their relief as they were automatically registered for the insurance,” she said.
