Sungai Tua community centre to collaborate with schools to disburse MBI aid

SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 — The Sungai Tua constituency community service centre will be collaborating with schools within the area to distribute the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI’s Back To School assistance.

The Menteri Besar’s regional political secretary Rahim Ahmad Kasdi said the initiative will ensure students from low-income families (B40) would receive donations worth RM100.

“We want the assistance to reach its target group. Aside from that, we will be reviewing students’ details from the head of villages and council members to ensure they get help.

“As of now, we have identified 300 students who are eligible to receive the assistance, which will be distributed by the end of this month so that they can prepare for the upcoming school session in March,” he told SelangorKini.

This year, MBI has allocated RM30,000 for each constituency to help the low-income families to prepare for schooling needs.

Last week, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who is also the Sungai Tua state assemblyman, handed over early school assistance to 1,212 Warisan Anak Selangor Fund (Tawas) members who were born in 2016.
