Tourism Malaysia launches Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia 2023 roadshow

PETALING JAYA, Feb 25 — Tourism Malaysia today launched the Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia 2023 Roadshow to boost domestic tourism activities, and thus encourage people to plan domestic holidays and help give the economy a shot in the arm.

Its director-general Datuk Zainuddin Abdul Wahab said 30 industry players, comprising tour agencies, hotels, and theme parks, are participating in the second edition of this roadshow, offering over 100 tour packages with discounts of between 15 and 50 per cent.

“This programme will be extended to seven more locations nationwide after this. We hope that this kind of programme will be able to further increase the competitiveness of the domestic tourism industry,” he said.

Zainuddin was representing Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, at the launch of the roadshow, which is taking place until tomorrow (February 26) at the Curve shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara here.

The roadshow will continue at Aeon Mall Nilai, Negri Sembilan, from May 26 to 28; One Utama Shopping Centre (June 9-11); Aeon Mall Kinta City, Ipoh (July 14-16); Aeon Mall Shah Alam (August 25-27); Sunway Carnival Mall, Penang (September 29-October 1), Sunway Pyramid Mall (October 27-29) and Aeon Mall Bandaraya Melaka (November 10-12).

Zainuddin said that this time the roadshow is targeting a total sales revenue of RM12 million, compared with last year’s edition which managed to record RM9.6 million, with a total of 29,198 tour packages sold.

Meanwhile, also launched was the #IsninKhamisJak Staycation Accommodation Package for Sabah and Labuan, aimed at helping local hotel and resort entrepreneurs to increase the low average occupancy rates from Mondays to Thursdays.

Zainuddin said that this offers 16 new packages, including ‘Buy Two Nights, One Free Night’ and ‘Buy One Night, Get One Night at 50% Off’.

The special offers are open for domestic tourists until April 15 and are valid till December 31 this year.
