By Jerry Choong

SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — The water supply in 1,037 affected areas in five districts and areas around Shah Alam has now reached 31 per cent, according to Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.

In a statement, it said Gombak is now 99 per cent restored as of 11.30am, followed by Kuala Selangor at 26 per cent, and Klang and Shah Alam at eight per cent.

Meanwhile, the districts of Petaling, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat are still affected by the unscheduled water disruption.

“The duration of the water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises.

“We also hope consumers who have received the water supply will use water prudently, to ensure the supply recovery process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” Air Selangor said.

Consumers can refer to all official communication channels including the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, or call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300. They can also view the list of affected areas at https://hentitugas.airselangor.com/ and the Air Selangor app.

Yesterday at 9.45pm, a diesel-like odour was detected at the intake of all four WTPs, necessitating a temporary shutdown. By 1.30am today, raw water began to be pumped into the Rantau Panjang WTP and into the SSP1, SSP2, and SSP3 WTPs by 2.15am, after a threshold odour number of zero was recorded three times in a row.

Following this, the water supply began to be distributed in stages at 6.30am. Water tankers have been mobilised to provide assistance during this period of unscheduled water disruption.
