5,000 litres of subsidised diesel seized by KPDN in Semenyih

PUTRAJAYA, March 23 — The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) confiscated 5,000 litres of diesel and equipment believed to be used for the purpose of misappropriating subsidised fuel in a raid at a premise in Semenyih, Selangor, on Tuesday (March 21).

The ministry’s director-general Datuk Azman Adam, in a statement today, said a team of KPDN enforcement officers raided the premises at about 9.30pm on the suspicion the premises was being used as a store and to siphon diesel.

The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Meanwhile, Azman said, in operations codenamed Ops Tiris conducted from March 1 to March 21 nationwide, a total of 2,582 inspections were carried out with 69 cases recorded, involving a total seizure value of RM1.27 million.
