SHAH ALAM, March 24 — The Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat (JER) affordable daily goods sale programme will offer more items for customers, leading up to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period.

State executive councillor for agricultural modernisation Izham Hashim said the programme will continue to offer six main products as well as additional essential items, to meet the public’s demands in preparation for the holiday.

“The list of items is still being discussed, so as to ensure it can meet residents’ needs. This initiative will ensure they obtain Raya needs more conveniently at reasonable prices.

“We are aware that shoppers will spend more during the festive period, which can be a lot during Aidilfitri,” he told SelangorKini when contacted earlier today.

Izham added JER’s locations will focus on the residential areas of low-income residents.

“Similarly we are still examining the suitability of the locations where the programme will be held, and it may be held in each district so as many residents as possible can benefit from it,” he said.

Earlier in the month, Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation chief operations officer Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said JER will take place on every Saturday and Sunday during the Ramadan fasting month.

In order to do so, he said the programme will provide supplies in larger quantities than usual.

JER offers standard chicken at RM10 per pack, fresh solid beef (RM10 per pack) Grade B eggs (RM10 per tray), mackerel fish (RM6 per pack), 5kg cooking oil (RM25) and 5kg rice (RM10).

Also on sale are dried goods under the Ehsan PKPS brand, like wheat flour, sugar, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, canned sardines, biscuits, glutinous rice, dry noodles and ground chillies.
