SHAH ALAM, March 16 — This year’s Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) will be restructured and improved to be more relevant to current developments.

State executive councillor for investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the annual event aims to attract more participation from foreign countries, as well as invite world-renowned economic speakers and dignitaries from Southeast Asia.

He said a focus will also be given to vendors, especially in the Selangor International Expo (food and beverages), which is prepared to compete in the foreign market.

“SIBS 2023’s promoting and branding efforts at home and abroad will be increased through visits, publications and advertisements, so as to receive greater responses, participation, and successes,” Teng said.

He was responding to a query from Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin, during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting today, adding that SIBS will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center from October 19 to October 22.

Last year’s SIBS, a conference for industry players to develop enterprises and introduce Selangor as an international investment gateway, recorded RM1.45 billion in transaction value last year.
