Floods: 419 evacuees at five relief centres in Batu Pahat this morning

JOHOR BAHRU, March 24 — The number of flood evacuees in Batu Pahat dropped from 439 at 8pm yesterday to 419 as of 8am today, said the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN).

It said in a statement that five relief centres were still operating, housing 113 families.

The five centres are Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Medan (209 evacuees), SA Seri Bertam (six), Yong Peng Community Hall (129), SJK(C) Hua Min (21) and SA Seri Comel (54).

It also said that Sungai Bekok at Bekok Dam was at the warning level of 19.00 metres, while the weather for all 10 districts in the state is forecast to be bright this morning.
