Infrasel: Close to 40,000 potholes repaired within 24 hours since 2021

SHAH ALAM, March 21 — The Selangor road maintenance agency Infrasel Sdn Bhd (Infrasel) has repaired 39,182 potholes on the roads in the state from 2021 to last 2022.

Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) Corporate Communications Department head Suhaimi Khalidi said the potholes were repaired within 24 hours after receiving public complaints.

“Apart from road repairs, Infrasel also carries out electrical works, road construction, emergency works such as landslides, floods as well as monitoring and supervision services,” he said.

Suhaimi said that the state agency also received complaints about trees on the shoulder of the roads that make it difficult for road users in areas under Infrasel’s supervision.

Repairs of roads that are riddled with potholes done by Infrasel cover the areas in Gombak, Sepang, Petaling, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Hulu Selangor.

Among the roads that have been fixed are Jalan Sawah Ban, Pasir Panjang, Sabak Bernam; Jalan Genting Highlands – Batang Kali and Jalan Rahidin 1, Kampung Paya Jaras Dalam, Petaling.

Other roads include Jalan Selayang – Kepong; Gombak; Jalan B48, Dengkil Sepang; Jalan Kris 1, Kuala Selangor and Jalan Sungai Tekali, Hulu Langat.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari urged people to report damaged roads in their areas on Twitter so that they would be automatically screened and checked.

The complaints can be made by uploading a tweet on Twitter using the hashtags #namajalan #daerah (for damaged roads).
