SHAH ALAM, March 8 — KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) has mobilised a team for the second phase of the flood relief mission to Labis, Johor, today.

Its managing director Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir said that the Bantuan Kita Selangor Penyayang mission includes sending five arm roll trucks or roll-on-roll-off (Roro) bins and 20 team members to help with the cleaning-up process.

“KDEBWM is very familiar with the post-flood cleanup works due to the tasks we carried out following the (flood) incident in December 2021 (in Selangor).

“We hope that the assistance would ease the burden of those involved in the recent floods (in Johor),” he said in a statement.

Ramli said that the relief mission is led by KDEBWM senior operations manager Zulhazmi Musa and head of KDEBWM Shah Alam Branch Operations Mohd Rizal Abd Karim.

Yesterday, Amirudin said announced that the state government would mobilise the second phase of the Bantuan Kita Selangor Penyayang relief and humanitarian mission.

The members of the team include those of various agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) who are involved in the post-flood cleaning works.

On March 4, the first phase of Bantuan Kita Selangor Penyayang, led by the State Disaster Management Unit (UPBN) (Management Services) Divisional secretary Muhammad Hanafi Ahmad, was mobilised to dispatch basic necessities to Johor.

The items, which include food, drinks, hygiene kits, clothes and disposable diapers, were sent to the Disaster Needs Storage Depot (South Zone), Muar, to ease the distribution of aid to the flood victims.

The state government had disbursed 1,000 food items and 1,000 hygiene kits were handed over, including 418 food baskets, 200 five-kilogram rice packs, adult and children’s disposable diapers, slippers, adult and children’s clothing, and mineral water.
