MPAJ to organise fishing tournament this Sunday with RM17,000 in prizes

SHAH ALAM, March 3 — The Cabaran Joran Ampang Jaya 2023 fishing competition organised by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) at Tasik Pandan Perdana on Sunday (February 5) will be offering RM17,000 in total prizes.

Its public relations and secretariat department said the council is aiming for 1,000 entries, with the competition open to the public at a fee of RM40 for each rod.

“The first 500 entries will receive a T-Shirt donated by the sponsor. The competition is being held to promote Tasik Pandan Perdana as an eco-tourism location in Ampang Jaya.

“In addition, the competition is meant to attract the interest of Ampang Jaya residents to take advantage of Tasik Pandan Perdana’s facilities for recreational activities, among others,” it said in a statement today.

MPAJ said the winner of Cabaran Joran Ampang Jaya 2023 will be awarded RM5,000 in prizes, with RM2,000 to the second-place winner, and RM3,000 to the third-place winner.

Fourth to 10th place winners will each receive RM200 in cash, 11th to 30th place RM150, 31st to 70th place RM100, and 71st to 100th place RM50.

Participants also stand a chance at winning lucky draw prizes, which include a 40-inch TV and various fishing equipment.

The registration counter is open at Tasik Pandan Perdana from 3pm until 9pm tomorrow.

On February 27, MPAJ released 100 kg of catfish into the lake, in conjunction with Cabaran Joran Ampang Jaya.
