PKNS targets 10 enterprises to penetrate global markets this year

JAKARTA, March 16 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), via its entrepreneur development unit, has targeted at least 10 enterprises to penetrate global markets this year.

To achieve this, enterprises under the guidance of PKNS will be invited to participate in overseas expos, such as SIAL Canada in May, which is the largest food trade fair in Canada.

“This year, we aim to produce competitive enterprises through participation in international expos,” Yuzawati Yusof, the manager of the entrepreneur development unit, told Bernama.

PKNS upgraded the programme started in 2022 by providing a platform to help enterprises expand to overseas markets.

In the latest development, 12 Selangor-based companies, involving 22 products, participated in the Info Franchise and Business Concept (IFBC) 2023 to explore opportunities in the Indonesian market.

The three-day event, which ended on March 12 at ICE BSD Tangerang, Banten, also saw the participation of cafe operator Qidot Cafe and tempoyak-based fast food brand Mak Uda.

According to Yuzawati, the IFBC event’s business-to-business matching session enhanced market knowledge and cooperation among the enterprises of the two countries.

The IFBC programme was supported by Matrade Jakarta and Malaysia Chambers Jakarta (MCJ), which fosters business ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.

“We always support this programme and try to help enterprises explore markets here,” said MCJ president Raja Elona Safinaz Raja Safian.
