KLANG, March 19 — The Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah officiated the Kayuhan Menjungjung Kasih 2022 cycling event earlier today, spanning up to 50km.

His Highness began cycling with 938 participants at 8.20am, at the Sime Darby Sales Gallery in Bandar Bukit Raja.

The third edition of the cycling event, which sees the participants move across numerous historical areas around the royal city, was also joined by Klang MP V Ganabatirau.

Its technical coordinator Firdaus Arshad said the biennial programme, organized by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) together with Sime Darby Property, is aimed at fostering a healthy lifestyle and promoting Klang’s interesting and historic areas.

“The 50km cycling distance is to symbolise the 50th anniversary of Sime Darby Property. This edition is longer than the 38km distance, as seen during the second edition in 2019.

“Along the route are several stops, including the iconic Bandar Klang, the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery, the sports centre at Pandamaran, and the Bandar Bukit Raja intersection,” he said.

Earlier on, MPK President Noraini Roslan said Kayuhan Menjunjung Kasih’s third edition will pass through more areas than it did before, including Jambatan Raja Muda Nala and Jambatan Kota, as well as enabling cyclers to view the uniqueness of heritage buildings in and around Klang.
