SHAH ALAM, March 15 — The implementation of the new Rumah Selangorku 3.0 policy will be aimed at assisting singles and newly-married couples to own their first homes, said state executive councillor of housing Rodziah Ismail.

She said the policy will also cover several elements to help reduce additional financial problems during the home purchasing process.

“For the new policy for this year, we take note of Rumah Selangorku’s previous aspects related to development zones, specifications and controls, as well as standard unit components like three rooms.

“This time, we will permit development in relatively dense areas and implement a special programme for those under 35 years of age, particularly for singles and the newly married,” Rodziah said during the State Legislative Assembly sitting today.

Responding to a query from Jeram state assemblyman Mohd Shaid Rosli, she said Rumah Selangorku 3.0 will also offer homes for under RM250,000, as well as absorb any legal and transfer costs.

“Maintenance funding for a period of two years will also be provided. This will be one less worry for buyers over the additional finances which they would ordinarily have to provide,” said the Batu Tiga state assemblyman.

Earlier on, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the construction of houses for singles and newly married couples around Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Ampang and Shah Alam.
