Rumah Selangorku units in high demand as affordable pricing spurs buyers — Exco

SHAH ALAM, March 3 — The low cost of the state government-developed Rumah Selangorku affordable housing is one factor as to why it is in high demand, said state executive councillor for housing Rodziah Ismail.

She said the Rumah Selangorku applications tend to exceed as much as 300 per cent of the amount provided, every time a construction project in any location is opened.

“Rumah Selangorku is sold from RM42,000 to RM250,000. This price is reasonable for its location in urban areas, not to mention the strategic location of the housing projects.

“In Selangor, we do not face the issue of unsold houses, as affordable houses provided by the state government are always in demand. Many look forward to the projects,” Rodziah said when contacted.

She added Rumah Selangorku’s design and quality components, alongside being equipped with certain furniture and facilities, draw the public’s attention.

In August last year, Rodziah said the state government has approved the construction of a total of 215,930 residential units involving 372 Rumah Selangorku projects since it was first introduced in 2014.

Several initiatives were also implemented to help residents purchase their own homes, namely Skim Smart Sewa and Skim Bantuan Biaya Rumah, which will be launched after Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year.
