SHAH ALAM, March 17 — The Jelajah Bazar Ramadan Tanpa Tunai roadshow is looking to persuade at least 1,000 users and 500 Ramadan bazaars traders in five locations for this year.

State executive councillor for small-and-medium enterprises Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said they include those who frequent the bazaars at USJ 4 in Subang Jaya, Stadium Shah Alam in Shah Alam, Simpang Empat at Sungai Udang in Klang, Selayang Utama in Gombak, and Section 18 in Shah Alam.

“The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) and Wavpay will simultaneously visit the locations to encourage e-wallets usage among traders and visitors.

“The state government believes that digitisation can bring positive and significant changes, by improving the quality of life and the prosperity of Selangor’s residents,” he said.

Teng was speaking during the press conference to announce the Smart Raya Selangor 2023 initiative at the State Secretariat Building yesterday, which was also attended by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI’s corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor.

He added that bazaar visitors shopping using the Wavpay e-wallet also stand a chance to participate in the Shop and Win campaign, which offers a total of RM50,000 in prizes like motorbikes, laptops, smartphones, iPads, and televisions.

“The campaign period will run throughout the Ramadan fasting month, with one draw for every RM10 spent. Raffles will be held every weekend, with the main prize in the last week,” Teng said.

Meanwhile, traders who record the highest amount of transactions via Wavpay from each bazaar also stand to earn a RM2,000 cash reward.

“They must first register as Wavpay merchants to receive QR payments, with the approval process within three working days,” Teng said.
