SHAH ALAM, March 16 — Selangor remains the best at looking after its residents’ welfare, from cradle to grave, according to Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin.

She said this was evident by the organisation of 46 schemes under Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP), which are meant specifically for residents.

“This is excluding other initiatives like free water, free vaccines, legal aid, health screenings, Internet data, the Selangor Smart Bus, and counselling, among others, that were not mentioned.

“This is a brief overview of how fortunate it is for someone to be born in Selangor. Not to mention other initiatives like entrepreneurship, agriculture, digitisation, and climate change,” Jamaliah said.

She was speaking during the motion to debate the royal speech by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, during the State Legislative Assembly sitting yesterday.

Jamaliah encouraged all individuals to help publicise the state’s initiatives on social media, be it WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

“This is proof of our excellent service, for the sake of the people and the nation,” she said.

On Monday (February 13), during the opening ceremony of the Sixth Term for the 14th State Legislative Assembly, His Royal Highness called on residents to participate in ISP’s 46 welfare programmes.

Sultan Sharafuddin also expressed appreciation for the state government’s efforts in introducing various programmes for the benefit of the people.

After the present administration took over Selangor following its victory in the 12th General Election in 2008, seven programmes were prepared, based on the theme Merakyatkan Ekonomi Negeri.

This eventually grew to 43 schemes via Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat in 2017, after which coordination was carried out to provide 33 forms of aid in 2019.
