SelectUSA Investment Summit offers mutually beneficial investments for Malaysia, US

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 — Malaysian tech startups participating in the SelectUSA Investment Summit this May would promote mutually beneficial investments that could create win-win outcomes for both Malaysia and the United States (US), said Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and director-general of the US and Foreign Commercial Service Arun Venkataraman.

In a statement released by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) today, Venkataraman said the US offered an enabling business environment where startups could scale and thrive.

“I am excited to have met with the companies participating in the Pitch Malaysia USA Series event and welcome their participation,” he said.

On March 18, Venkataraman visited the Selangor Sandbox for a roundtable discussion to promote SelectUSA 2023.

The roundtable discussion was hosted by Sidec and attended by tech startups such as Asia Mobility Technologies Sdn Bhd, Store & Send Logistics Sdn Bhd, Virtualtech Frontier Sdn Bhd, Center of Applied Data Science Sdn Bhd, Revenue Monster Sdn Bhd, QueueMed Healthtech Sdn Bhd, and Accendo Technologies Sdn Bhd.

Sidec said SelectUSA is a US government programme facilitating and promoting business investment in the US.

“The SelectUSA investment summit is the highest-profile event dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the US.

“The upcoming 2023 summit will provide a platform for investors from around the world to connect with US economic development organisations and hear from business leaders about the advantages of investing in the US,” it added.
