SHAH ALAM, March 2 — The state government is inviting halal industry players and consumers to participate in the second edition of the Selangor Halal International Conference (Selhac), which is scheduled to take place from March 10 to March 12.

Harapan Daily quoted state executive councillor for halal industry Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni as saying the conference, themed Selangor, Gerbang Halal Antarabangsa, will be held at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center and seeks to attract over 8,000 visitors.

“The second edition of Selhac will be held with more participants, a wider and more comfortable space, and in an endemic atmosphere with a more strategic location.

“I hope many domestic and international industry players will join Selhac 2023. It brings together participants in Selangor, especially in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medicine, and beauty sectors,” he said.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Selhac 2023 will feature six components, including business forums, Islamic finance, exhibitions, business matching, halal supply chain, and digital marketing.

Targeting RM50 million in business matches, the conference will also cover food and beverage clusters, pharmaceutical and health care, polite fashion, raw materials and halal ingredients, beauty, as well as tourism and hospitality.

Selhac also provides space for industry players to explore business opportunities, expand product marketing, as well as collaborate with one other.

First organised in March last year at the Shah Alam Convention Center (SACC), Selhac saw over 200 exhibitors and recorded RM37.73 million in transactions.
