SHAH ALAM, April 6 — State investment arm Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has prepared over RM1.5 million to fund special Hari Raya Aidilfitri financial assistance for mosque workers and staff in Selangor.

Its corporate social communications head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the donations, via Insentif Khas Aidilfitri Kita Selangor, covers some 432 mosques.

“MBI assists the state government by donating special funds to imams, bilals, siaks, and nazirs in all mosques from Sabak Bernam to Saujana Putra,” he said when contacted.

Last week, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced RM500 in aid would be given to mosque personnel, which will be paid by April 21 at the latest.

Selangor civil servants alongside Al-Quran and Fardhu Ain class (Kafa) teachers will each receive a month’s salary, or a minimum of RM1,000, for the festive period, as well as an additional monthly allowance for community leaders.

Other categories which will receive aid include public teachers with RM500, and Federal government civil servants residing in Selangor earning RM3,000 and below.
