SHAH ALAM, April 11 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) organised an iftar meal for 100 orphans, as well as RM50 in donations to each orphan, at Dataran Kemerdekaan on Saturday (April 8).
Its corporate and public relations department head Shahrin Ahmad said the donations to the residents of Rumah Amal Kasih Bestari in Kampung Melayu Subang were presented by Shah Alam Mayor Datuk Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid.
“This is an MBSA initiative to help the needy in conjunction with the ongoing Ramadan fasting month,” he said.
During the event, up to 1,000 packs of fast-breaking meals were given for free to the programme’s visitors.
“The event also featured a Ramadan forum titled Ibrah Nuzul Qu’ran, and taranum reading. In addition, Maghrib, Isyak and Terawih congregational prayers were also held,” Shahrin said.
