SHAH ALAM, April 2 — The Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (Pekawanis) has allocated RM130,440 for its Back-To-School programme this year.

It said the amount has benefitted approximately 860 students from all districts in the state, with each student receiving RM150.

“The students personally received the cash assistance from Pekawanis president Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad,” Pekawanis said in a Facebook post yesterday.

In previous Pekawanis back-to-school programmes, each recipient received RM100 in cash benefits, which has since been increased to RM150.

The donations are meant for students from B40 or underprivileged families.
