SHAH ALAM, April 6 — The state government has allocated RM50,000 to distribute 10,000 Selangor Platform (Plats) RAHMAH coupons at Ramadan bazaars to the public.
Carried out via Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) atau MBI, state executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail said the coupons, worth RM5 individually, began distribution in stages yesterday and will last until April 18, for recipients to purchase food and drinks.
“Customers can display this coupon to a trader registered under Plats at the relevant Ramadan bazaar, to be exchanged for goods.
“If the price of the item being purchased is over RM5, the customer must pay the additional amount themselves,” she told SelangorKini.
Yesterday, approximately 600 Plats RAHMAH coupons were distributed to communities around Shah Alam, including at schools, mosques, low-income students (B40), and teachers.
An additional 400 coupons was also provided to visitors at the Ramadan bazaar in Section 7, in support of new traders under Yayasan Hijrah Selangor.
Rodziah, who is also Batu Tiga state assemblyman, encouraged Selangor residents to to take advantage of Plats when it comes to their day-to-day affairs.
“This is why we registered traders at the Ramadan bazaar in Section 7 with Plats, so as to make it easier for customers to pre-order food online
“It also helps to prevent congestion in terms of physical visitors and parking spaces. One merely has to place the order, then drop by to collect it,” she said.
