SHAH ALAM, April 2 — Universiti Selangor (Unisel) collaborated with the Malaysia Board on Books for Young People (MBBY) to organise the I’m A Book, Read Me programme.
In a Facebook post, it said the programme took place in the university library and was held to mark World Children’s Book Day which falls today.
Unisel president and vice-chancellor Prof Dato Mohammad Redzuan Othman said I’m A Book, Read Me was useful to foster a love of reading among children.
“Reading activities can enhance creativity and improve children’s academic ability. This culture should be regularly carried out, by taking advantage of the facilities available at the Unisel Library,” he said.
The programme was attended by the children of Unisel personnel aged 15 and below. were also given certificates of appreciation, as well as prizes awarded to the best storytelling among the children.
