100 Hijrah entrepreneurs to join product matching prog at leading supermarkets

SHAH ALAM, May 18 — Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah) has received nearly 100 registrations from entrepreneurs who wish to participate in the Selangor Hijrah Entrepreneur Aspiration Day 2023.

Acting chief executive officer Normaiza Yahya said that the programme provides product matching sessions with leading local and international supermarkets.

“The programme involves entrepreneurs who want to further develop and expand their businesses to the next level.

“Representatives from supermarkets are invited as judges for the programme to learn about the distinctive features of the products presented by the entrepreneurs,” she said when met at the open house and Khatam al-Quran event organised by Yayasan Hijrah at the Youth and Sports Complex in Section 7, here yesterday.

Normaiza said that the selected entrepreneurs have the opportunity to market their products at the designated venue.

She emphasised that penetrating the market of leading supermarkets is not an easy task.

“Yayasan Hijrah always aims to assist entrepreneurs in advancing their businesses and maintaining competitiveness at both local and international levels,” she added.

The Selangor Hijrah Entrepreneur Aspiration Day 2023 is expected to take place in the near future, and further information will be announced by the agency through official channels and social media.

Meanwhile, a total of 481 entrepreneurs have benefitted from the business financing loan scheme provided by Yayasan Hijrah in March.

Its senior operations manager Shaharuddin Yacob said that the initiative, valued at approximately RM4.7 million, was distributed through the i-Bisnes assistance programme.

“Hijrah always aims to assist entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses, especially during the festive season,” he told Selangorkini when met, here yesterday.

Shaharuddin said that Yayasan Hijrah received 15 applications during the recent Ramadan month for the i-Bermusim scheme with a loan value of RM106,000.

He stated that the scheme offers loans ranging from RM2,000 to RM20,000 to help local entrepreneurs interested in participating in the Raya bazaars.

The i-Bermusim scheme is one of the three financing schemes introduced by the Selangor government to assist entrepreneurs in recovering their businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Islamic concept scheme caters to entrepreneurs who require working capital for businesses in conjunction with events such as Ramadan bazaars, festive bazaars, and seasonal fruit stalls.
