PETALING JAYA, May 2 — The facilities of Masjid Kampung Tunku have been upgraded for the needs of female congregants, and particularly for senior citizens and disabled persons.
Kampung Tunku state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said the repairs cover the ablution facility and troughs, as well as its awnings, utilising funds approved by former Damansara MP Tony Pua.
“Approximately RM29,800 was allocated for this purpose, of which RM21,800 went to upgrade the ablution facility.
“The remainder went to the roof maintenance and the mosque will also bear some of the costs, as their commitment to the congregation’s needs,” she said in a press conference earlier today.
Lim added she will serve to facilitate between the mosque’s management and the Damansara MP’s office, in order to ensure the efforts to upgrade the facilities can be achieved.
She said she also hopes the improvements will make it easier for the congregation to worship comfortably, and become an example for other houses of worship.
“We are ready to share our experiences and expertise with those interested in developing similar facilities in their areas,” Lim said.
