PETALING JAYA, May 27 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) and the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) have donated RM6,000 to four fire victims and their families along Jalan SS5A/15 in Kelana Jaya yesterday.

MBI’s contributions were presented by its social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, while MBPJ was represented by Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir.

Ahmad Azri said his visit was to check on the families as well as inspect their homes, being informed by Seri Setia state assemblyman Halimey Abu Bakar.

“Today we handed over RM3,000 in aid to each family, with RM300 as an advance. The remaining RM2,700 will be provided later once their documentation is completed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Azhan said MBPJ presented RM3,000 in cash and dried food items including rice and eggs to the victims and their families.

“This is a gesture of concern for the victims, as they reside in MBPJ areas,” he said.

The fire occurred at 2.30pm on May 19, resulting in severe damage to two homes while the other two experienced 30 per cent in burn damages. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
