SHAH ALAM, May 31 – The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) is poised to receive the coveted Selangor Investors Appreciation Awards by Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor) on June 6.

Klang Municipal Council (MPK) president Noraini Roslan said that the local council has won the category of the most sought-after investment location in Selangor from 2019 to 2022.

“The primary objective of the award ceremony is to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions and excellence demonstrated by investors in their developmental efforts and strong economic performance in Selangor.

“Congratulations to MPK for this remarkable achievement,” she said the MPK Full Board meeting, here yesterday.

Noraini said that the award ceremony, which will be officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, is a show of appreciation towards the support of the investors who choose Selangor as their investment destination.

Meanwhile, Noraini stated that MPK has completed 70 per cent of the upgrade works on the drainage system to address the flood issues in Taman Melawis, Klang.

She said the flood mitigation works include the installation of larger U-shaped concrete drains, which is expected to compete in August.

“In addition to MPK, the Selangor Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) is actively involved in the flood mitigation works, which includes increasing the capacity of water gates and upgrading the drainage system in the area.

“These upgrade works are part of the flood mitigation project to ensure better water flow during heavy rainfall that can last for two to three hours,” she explained.

Noraini added that MPK has also constructed concrete embankments and drains measuring 24.46 metres since May 17 to prevent erosion or water seepage into the houses of residents.
