Repair works on burst pipe at Jalan Bukit Cerakah 61 pct completed — Air Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 — Emergency repair works due to a pipe burst at Jalan Bukit Cerakah in Bandar Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor, is 61.2 per cent complete as of 7pm today and is according to schedule, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

In a post on Facebook today, the state agency said that the repair works are expected to be completed at 3am on Tuesday.

“Water supply will be distributed to consumers in stages when the repair works are completed and the main water supply distribution system has been stabilised,” the post read.

Previously, Air Selangor state that water supply to the 99 affected areas in Klang, Shah Alam and Kuala Selangor is expected to be fully restored by 9pm on Wednesday.

Water tankers will continued to be mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral parlours.

The repair work involves a main pipeline measuring 2,200 millimetres in diameter and a large-scale distribution area.

Affected consumers can also obtain information regarding this unscheduled water supply disruption from time to time through official communication channels such as the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or call Air Selangor at 15300.
