SHAH ALAM, May 31 — Selangor will organise its first-ever cross-cultural programme, Silang Budaya, to showcase its arts and heritage abroad.
State executive councillor for culture and heritage Borhan Aman Shah said the programme will kick off in Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesian government, from June 9 to June 13.
“We have received an invitation to visit Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia, for the cross-cultural programme.
“This is also our endeavour to bring and promote Selangor’s culture on an international platform, especially in Southeast Asia,” he told SelangorKini.
The programme will feature cultural performances, dialogue sessions, and visits to renowned heritage sites in Indonesia, according to Borhan.
He further mentioned that Selangor will showcase Keroncong music from Kuala Selangor and the Caklempong group from Kuala Langat.
“Our delegation will include representatives from cultural associations, officials, and local media,” he said.
