SHAH ALAM, May 21 — The Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat (JER) affordable basic necessities sales programme will take place in nine state constituencies tomorrow, starting at 10am.
The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) said the locations include Sungai Serdang in Sementa, padang besar Desa Baiduri in Balakong, and the Pekan Batu 39 pasar malam site in Air Tawar.
Other locations include Dewan Matahari U5 Subang Bestari in Kota Damansara, Surau Al-Azizah Jalan Haji Abdul Aziz in Sungai Kandis, and Taman Klang Utama basketball court in Bandar Baru Klang.
JER will also take place on the grounds of Surau Haji Dahlan Parit 11 barat in Sabak, Batu 8 Jalan Pasar Malam Bukit Kapar in Meru, and Puncak Alam Fasa 3 in Jeram.
The programme offers a variety of items including standard chicken at RM10 per pack, frozen solid beef at RM10 per pack, Grade B chicken eggs at RM10 per tray, mackerel at RM6 per pack, 5kg cooking oil at RM25 per pack, and 5kg rice at RM10 per pack.
During its run from September to December last year, JER benefitted over two million Selangor residents.
In light of the encouraging public response, the state government expanded the programme to 1,200 locations from January 16 onwards.
Additionally, during the last week of Ramadan, PKPS collaborated with the Selangor Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority and Koperasi Warga Hijrah Selangor Berhad to organise a Hari Raya Aidilfitri mega sale in 23 locations, so as to lighten the economic burdens faced by members of the public.
For its efforts, PKPS was recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records for selling the largest amount of subsidised chicken and eggs within a two-day period, in conjunction with Aidilfitri.
