Tanjung Buloh drowning: Remains of two sisters buried in one grave

KOTA TINGGI, May 2 — The remains of two sisters who were found drowned at Tanjung Buloh Public Beach in Kuala Sedili yesterday, were buried at Batu 4 Muslim Cemetery, Jalan Lombong earlier today.

The remains of Siti Rabiah Johari, 13, and her sister Siti Nursalina, 10, were buried together in one grave at 11.15am.

Earlier, post-mortems were conducted at the Forensic Unit of Kota Tinggi Hospital (HKT) before the girls’ remains were brought to the An-Nur Mosque in Kampung Batu Ampat here for funeral prayers.

Yesterday, Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Hussin Zamora reportedly said that the joy of a family of six for an outing at Tanjung Buloh Public Beach in conjunction with the Labour Day holiday turned into tragedy when two of them were drowned.

Hussin said that the body of Siti Rabiah Johari, 13, was found about 50 metres from the beach at 4pm, while the body of her sister Siti Nursalina Johari, 10, was found 15 minutes later about 15 metres away from the location where she was last seen.
