City boys clinical in front of goal in 2 – 1 away victory — KL City FC head coach

KUANTAN, June 5 — Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC head coach Bojan Hodak says his team’s 2 – 1 victory over Sri Pahang FC in the Super League action at the Darul Makmur Stadium here last night was thanks to the ability of his players to take chances in front of goal.

Hodak said his men also appeared confident and played well last night to earn all three points.

“We played very well, especially in the first 25 minutes of the match where we completely controlled the game and created several golden opportunities until we managed to produce the first goal.

“After that, maybe because the players were under much pressure, we lost the ball too quickly and it opened up space for Sri Pahang to equalise,” he said during the press conference after the match.

In last night’s match, City Boys import striker Tchetche Kipre opened the scoring in the fifth minute before the hosts equalised through a penalty kick by defender Stefano Brundo in the 57th minute.

KL City captain Paulo Josue then disappointed the Tok Gajah fans when he scored the winning goal through a free kick in the 75th minute.

Meanwhile, Sri Pahang manager Fandi Ahmad admitted his team was a little sluggish at the beginning of the match and it could be among the factors they lost the match.

“There were players who were less active on the field, which led to us making some changes in the second half and the team performed better, but unfortunately they (KL City) managed to score the second goal,” he said.
