Hijrah offers RM50 mln capital loans for local entrepreneurs

SHAH ALAM, June 1 — Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah) is offering up to RM50 million in capital loans to local entrepreneurs in the state, according to its acting chief executive officer Normaiza Yahya.

She said this is to support entrepreneurs in promoting their products and simultaneously expanding their businesses.

“Until April this year, eligible entrepreneurs have received a total of RM13 million in grants. There are still ample allocations and opportunities available for others.

“Hijrah provides a range of schemes tailored to entrepreneurs’ current needs. At present, we have no plans to introduce additional schemes as existing ones are adequate and will be continued,” Normaiza said during the Hijrah Tour Selangor (HITS) programme at Pustaka Raja Tun Uda yesterday.

She added Hijrah’s current focus lies in providing support via the Niaga Darul Ehsan (NaDI) scheme, specifically designed for Selangor’s women entrepreneurs.

“The i-Business scheme received the highest number of applications, wherein entrepreneurs can benefit from RM1,000 to RM100,000 in cash assistances.

“Our goal is to strengthen and empower NaDI, as the number of borrowers are comparatively lower compared to other schemes,” Normaiza said.

In addition to NaDI and i-Business, Hijrah offers financing schemes to help entrepreneurs develop their businesses, namely Zero to Hero, Go Digital, i-Lestari, i-Agro, and i-Bermusim.

Applicants can apply for the financing at http://mikrokredit.selangor.gov.my/e-hijrah/login. For more information, please visit www.hijrahselangor.com.
