KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — Book launches, including one co-authored by former education minister Maszlee Malik, are among the key highlights at the Selangor Pavilion, during the last three days of the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2023.
The highly-anticipated launch of the book, titled Siasah Madani, which Maszlee co-authored with his wife Hamidah Mat, is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 10am.
The final leg of the 10-day book fair, which concludes on Sunday (June 4), will also feature book discussions.
One of today’s discussion sessions at the Selangor Pavilion featured a representative from the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), who shared insights into the various initiatives undertaken by the state government.
At 10.30am tomorrow, Selangor Media Sdn Bhd chief executive Mohamed Fareed Mohamed Ashaaree and TV Al-Hijrah chairman Mohd Khair Ngadiron will hold a discussion on the current media landscape.
The Selangor Pavilion, serving as the state’s guest area during the book fair at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre, provides a wealth of information on state government initiatives and programmes.
The Selangor Public Library Corporation’s (PPAS) corporate division head Zafrullah Aris also announced the participation of prominent figures in the art community, namely Mior Hashim Manap, Imuda, and Sri Diah, who will all make an appearance during the Hati dan Minda Sasterawan programme.
He said additional sessions, including online language learning, the Language Discovery@Selangor Public Library, and engaging book talks, will also be facilitated by PPAS.
“We are delighted to feature Nor Azhar Ishak, also known as Uncle Nai, a talented writer, storyteller, and illustrator who specializes in captivating children’s literature,” Zafrullah said, adding the event schedule may be subject to change.
